In Memory of Sammy Romick

We were honored but saddened to light our candles for Sammy. His Mom writes:

Sammy Romick went to the rainbow bridge today after 17 years on earth. He spent his first 10 in one of the worst puppymills in Missouri until he was no longer useful for them and set up for auction. There were no bidders for Sammy or Vincent but Col. Potter was there to save them both from certain death. He was lovingly fostered in Las Vegas by Lynn Radcliff until he came to live here in New Jersey.

For those of you who were at the first cairnfest in New York in 2002, Sammy was the little wheaton who had the most fun. He was always a pleasure and despite his many physical challenges over the years, he was always a happy boy. He loved his dinner and his momma the best, probably in that order.

Sam taught me many things about perseverance. He holds the record for catching 3 possum one year. And he only had 3 little teeth, 2 in front. When he didn’t like something, he was sure to show them to you. Sammy was the only cairn I ever had that never had an issue with meeting anyone or any dog. He was always a gentleman. His original cairn mates are all waiting for him at the bridge so he won't be lonely.

I will miss him terribly as he was my shadow. Please light a candle for him. May all of you be as fortunate as we were to have been loved by such an amazing soul as Sammy Romick.
Liz and Jim, Zibby, Becky, and Casey
