Happy Gotcha Days to Zach and Daisy Mae!
Just a little note letting our friends at CRM know that today is our Zach's 8'th Gotcha Day. On December 2nd, Daisy Mae celebrated her #2 GotchaDay. Hard to believe how time flies. Do you remember Danielle & friends, all the advice and worries when we picked up 10 month old Zach from his unwanted situation? "Wow, that is one big Yorkie!" Well, he still is the biggest Yorkie most people have seen and he is going to be 9 years old come February. Zach turned into quite a gentleman and puts up with his pushy Cairn sister with grace. He is still active, crazy at times, loves walks and car rides, chases the squirrels and stray cats and allows our Amazon Parrot, Cody, to tease him. In the last couple of months, I have noticed that he is sleeping more, sleeping deeper and that his rear legs are stiff after sleeping so long. Hard to believe the incorrigable Zach is heading into the senior citizen phase. That is always bittersweet, isn't it?
Our rescue Cairn female, Daisy Mae celebrated her 2nd year with us, too. She will also be 9 yrs old come February. In the last couple of months I have noticed that Daisy is, at long last, content. It often seemed like she was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Like she really liked her new home and family but she couldn't quite relax and be happy. Always fearing that she would be taken away. Sometime this autumn, things seemed to turn around. Daisy seems to have finally and fully accepted her life with us. She appears happy, brave, loving, protective, and well...she acts almost like she has spent her whole life with us since puppyhood rather than just two years! I am so happy for her and glad that she is content.
So, dearest Zach & dearest Daisy Mae, Happy Gotcha Day's! We love you!
