Update on Persephone who is now Penny

Hello everyone! I'm Emily and I adopted Persephone (now Penny) in February. Penny is doing great! She has come so far and we're amazed everyday at how she's turning into a "real" dog, more and more. She used to cower with every stranger she met and now she goes up and greets people. We completed obedience training in August and she passed the canine good citizenship test. She probably passed with a D+ but she still passed! She's very attached to her Mommy so she wasn't too happy when she had to be left with a friendly stranger. She would circle and whimper, waiting for me to come back!

She's very lucky to have a loving grandma who watches her everyday when we go to work. They take naps together and she helps out in the garden. She's very spoiled by both her parents and grandparents!

She has some separation anxiety but we're working on that. She still has an occasional accident in the house but if we stick to her schedule, it's few and far between. She recently got over a bout of giardosis which she probably got from eating other dog'spoop. She doesn't eat her own, just the ones in the neighborhood when we go fora walk. We try to keep an eye on her but sometimes she's so darn fast!

Penny is such a blessing and we couldn't imagine life without her now. Bringing her into our family has been such a rewardingexperience. Thank you to everyone who helps save such special dogs!
