Roxanne Marks 1 Year in Forever!

Pawtributed by CP Roxanne aka Roxie

Mommy asked me to take a break from my toys to sit for a 1 Year photo!

It’s me!  Roxanne! Can you believe I have been here in my Forever Home for a Whole Year?!!!

Look at my New Boots!  I LOVE the snow now!!
Of course I LOVE being outside on the grass too!

Mommy and Daddy are so Happy, they decorated the house and took a nice green tree from outside (where I love to be!) and brought it in the house!  They put all kinds of decorations on it and – best of all – they put a whole bunch of packages under the bottom branches!  Full of Toys!!!!
My sister Rye, also a CP girl, likes to dress up too!!
Mommy kept calling it a “Christmas Tree”, and she was very nice and put things under there for my sister Rye and my brother, Jasper, too, but I know it was all to celebrate my arrival last December!  I sure hope they do this every year!
We also love to cuddle in Mommy’s lap!
Mommy was also saying how happy she was that I have learned so, so, so much this year!  I learned, for example, to sit and wait for my own bowl of food, and because I have been so good, I can eat in the kitchen now with everyone else!  I also learned that I don’t have to worry about protecting my toys and my bones – nobody here is going to take them away from me!  I even share them with Rye and Jasper and they let me play with their stuff as well!
Even better than that, I learned that I LOVE sleeping in bed with Mommy and Daddy and Rye and Jasper!  It is soooooo much nicer than staying in my crate all night!  Happy!  Happy!  Happy!
It is not fun to be sick…
I wasn’t feeling good a while back, and I found out that my Mommy and Daddy loved me so much, they took me to the doctor and took really good care of me, made me feel all better again!  And another thing:  I decided my groomer was worthy of my trust and I let her trim my nails with no fuss whatsoever!  Took a while, but I got there!
…but my Mommy and Daddy took very good care of me!
Well, back in July, I said you should “look for me here in another six months” and I hope you agree it was worth the effort!   All and all, I’d say it’s been a very good year and I hope to have more happy stories for you Next December!

Happy New Year to you all!

Love,
Roxanne

Ty Settles in Forever!

Contributed by CP Ty

CP Ty getting settled in Forever!

Michigan?!!!  Never heard of it before, but we are certainly not in Florida anymore!

New sister Tartan and Ty sit for cookies

CP Ty here!  You might recall that, back in June, I had a Big change in my life after many years with one family.  I was just getting settled into my Foster Home in Florida, when up, up, and away I go – this time to Michigan!  I flew here in a great big airplane!  My new Mom drove to the airport to pick me up, and my new Gramps and Grammy watched my flight on the computer – tracking it, sort of like I would track a snake or a lizard!

Grandpa and Grandma track Ty’s flight from Florida

Ty meeting Mom - Cheek to cheek!

After I met my new Mom – and did all the hugging and stuff – I finally got to meet my new sister, Tartan.  She’s still making her mind up about me (playing hard to get!), but I like her just fine!  I am glad my New Mom fell under my spell so quickly!  She just had to take me along to work with her to show me off, and I love riding with her and meeting lots of new people!

Ty learns about snuggling, far from the warmth of Florida!

Oops!  I didn’t mean to step on that little button, Mom…

So, Michigan, smishigan, who cares if it's not Florida!  I love my new Mom and I am planting myself right here Forever!

CP Valtteri nka Fritzi Sees his Future Clearly!

Contributed by Fritzi fka Cp Valtteri

CP Valtteri nka Fritzi
Fritzi here!  I know you knew me for so many months as CP Valtteri - and I really did love my time with Foster Mom, Suzanne H. on Vancouver Island – but now I am Fritzi and I am thrilled!  Even the two cats here are easy to get along with!

Speaker, Fritzi, and Benny behold the beauty of nature!
I have two great dog companions, Benny the Whippet and Speaker the Lab, and the fun we have is so exciting!  I know my Mom sent you pictures of us all laying around, relaxing, or contemplating the beauty of nature, but we also do something that is way more fun!  Mom loves taking us for walks and hikes, but the best part is coming home when we get to play “race-horse”!  Mom opens the driveway gates and the three of us race the length of the driveway to the finish line!  WooHoo!!!  It is so much fun!  Mom says the noises I make during this daily race are so funny, it has become one of the highlights of her day too!

Fritzi and Benny catching a few rays!
Fritzi hanging out with Speaker and Benny
Fritzi loves to ride shotgun on the back of the sofa!

Not bad for a 10 year old Cairn, pretty much blinded by cataracts!

My Mom says that she has a lot of respect for this little Cairn, and she is so glad she adopted me!  As I look at the present and the future, I think it is safe to say that the feelings are absolutely mutual!

Fritzi loves his toys!
Life is looking good!

Thank you Col. Potter and Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Fantastic New Year!

A Dandy Christmas!

Written by Dandy fka CP Jim Dandy

Dandy fka CP Jim Dandy loves his gift from Foster Mom!

Hello, Col. Potter Friends!  Dandy here!  And, let me tell you, this Christmas is Dandy as well!  It is my first Christmas with Mom and Dad, so I’ve been expecting to go shopping to get some nice new toys (after Mom finished baking all those Yum Yum cookies and Dad hauled them off to the Post Office!), but guess what?  My Foster Mom, Lynn B., sent me a special Christmas present too!

When I saw the Snowman, I knew there was something special!  I sniffed it and sniffed it, and I recognized the smell of Foster Mom!  Well, I picked it right up, and went trotting all over the house with it!   Mom says I must be a Christmas Cairn because my 3 favorite toys are a Santa, a Penguin, and now a Snowman!

December 3rd marked my 9th month with Mom and Dad, and I know I have become an integral part of our household.  Mom says I’m her little watch dog because I guard her all day - barking even when Dad comes in the house!  I stay at the foot of Mom’s chair, or I hang out on the recliner with her.  I also pull duty as her night watchman, keeping an eye on her while she sleeps - up on the bed, of course!   But, even though I am Happy, Happy, Happy here in Forever, and my Mom and Dad are happy to have me in their lives, I am also very happy that Foster Mom remembered me this holiday season!

So, Happy Forever Mom & Dad, Happy Foster Mom, and Happy Cairn!

Ho!  Ho!  Ho!  Wishing You All a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Say...  Mom?  Did you make some Yum Yums for me too?????

Kody Makes Christmas Bright!!!

Written by Kody fka CP IC

Kody fka CP IC, loving Life in Forever!

Kody here!  I am having a Super Christmas – my very first one!  All because I was part of the Col. Potter Super Transporter Group (CP IC to be exact) and my Mom and Dad were Super ready to have a new bundle of joy – and that was me!

I have heard Mom tell Dad that they got “the best Christmas gift early this year” when I came into their lives on Nov. 8, 2013.  She says that, after being without a dog for seven months, they were so happy to have me to love - and that I brought laughter back into their home!   I do my best!

I’m all my Mom & Dad need for Christmas!!

Thank you Col. Potter Volunteers for all you do, and, from me and my Happy Mom & Dad, we wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Today is the fifth anniversary of the day Mr. Bogey (CP's Brigand fostered by Carol L.) came flying into my life.  His fur-sibs and I are celebrating wildly, since his arrival brought not just a sweet furry fella, but also a relationship with Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network.  Talk about a two-fer!!!

My handsome fella will be 14 next week.  Lots to be thankful for!

THANK YOU ALL for everything you do!

Gertie’s Christmas Greetings!!!

Written by Gertie fka CP Trudy Lou

Gertie fka CP Trudy Lou, nice and comfy in Forever!

Hello!  My name is Gertie, though you might remember me as CP Trudy Lou.  This is a very Special Christmas because I have now been in my Forever home for 2 years  - and it's Great!  My Mum thinks I’m Special!  She say's I’m her “Angel” who came into her life when we needed each other.  I think she’s pretty angelic too!

I just Love to help my Mum!

Well, we have a lot of White Stuff on the ground here in Idaho at the moment.  I like to rub my nose in it when we go for walks!   I especially love it because I get to wear my beautiful red coat, and everyone says how cute I am!

Mum and I want to wish everyone at Col Potter a Merry Christmas!
