Gotcha, Gotcha, Gotcha Day!!!

Today is Bea, Zander and Neha's Gotcha Day - a triple celebration for 3 cairns in SC.

We adopted Bea and Neha together 3 years ago as they had bonded in foster care and when we decided to adopt Zander 2 years ago we had the contract dated for 9/24 so they could share the date!

DH helped but he needs to get some pointers from Tony O.

The New Zander with Gal Pal Neha

Zander has been on thyroid medicine and is like a new dog, feels good, more social, integrating himself into the pack. Neha misses Foster BG (now Guinness) but is very happy to hang out with Zander and they have started taking walks together. As you can see, they love the door and the full view window.

Happy Birthday to Neha!

Neha turned 8 years old today and as you can see, she is wearing a pretty pink bow and enjoying a toy. She belonged to an older woman who died and we have had her since September of 2008. We are taking her to a puppy obedience class because she jumps up on everybody and is SO excited and the trainer told us that it is because she has always been loved, knows she is loved and thinks everyone else loves her too!

Thanks to CP and Marie F who fostered her and got her through her grief - she wasn't available for adoption for over 3 months.

Big Celebrations for Bea, Neah, and Zander

September 24th was Bea and Neha’s first anniversary of their gotcha day AND it was Zander’s adoption day!

Bea and Neha met and bonded in foster care and we adopted them together. This picture is the two of them today wondering what all the fuss is about - after all, they knew all along they were cairn princesses. They sleep snuggled next to each other, play together all the time and always like to know where the other one is. Bea won Best Senior at the Isle of Palms Doggy Day at the Rec this year and Neha also participated in this and the Charleston Dog Show and she loves to show off her soccer skills at the dog park. They are very happy and healthy and love their toys and riding in the car and leaving nose prints on the windows!

Zander is getting his second chance at adoption. His first one didn’t work out and we were happy to offer him a “furever” home with us. .We never thought that we would have three dogs but you just know when it’s right and when he came back in the door, Bea and Neha came flying down the stairs to sniff him and do their happy dance. This is a picture of him with his new toys and face trim AFTER I mailed his contract.
We will be driving them to their first Cairn rescue Annual Party (CRAP) in West Virginia next week. I’m sure there will be a story to tell after that adventure! Thanks to everyone in Col. Potter who helps to make these stories possible behind the scenes everyday!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Cairns

Izzy is Susan B's puppymill girl who is still pretty timid. I brought my CP girls Bea and Neha to visit her overnight. Everyone had a great time. Izzy warmed up to my girls and seemed to love having some other dogs around. Please take a look at some of our photo memories from the trip!

Izzy's Mom Susan reports:
Izzy is still sniffing everywhere, taking in the sweet scent of Bea and Neha and missing them.
Bea is the cutest little bear I've ever seen and when she rolls over for the smiling tummy rub, you could just melt it is so cute. And the first time I heard her "roo-roo" I couldn't believe a dog could make that noise, lol.
Neha is such a cute little waggly-tail doll. I wanted to keep both of them!!!
I think having them here did Izzy a world of good; I can tell she is walking around more freely today than she was prior to your visit.
Thanks so much for taking the wonderful photos and for sharing these here. It was so wonderful to meet you in person and to spend time with you and your sweeties! Hugs,Susan

Bea and Neha in the Sunshine

It is a beautiful sunny day in South Carolina today - I thought I'd share a picture of my girls soaking up some sunshine on the deck.
