Kelvin Fetches Forever!

Contributed by his Foster Mom

CP Kelvin gives Two Paws Up to New Mom & Dad!

This past Sunday, Kelvin’s new parents came over to meet him.  He greeted them at the door with a tail wag and paw on the knee, and then he showed off his fetching skills, quickly tricking them into pitching for him for at least an hour!

Ky and Marge are lovely people and I really enjoyed meeting them.  I wasn’t thrilled to let go of Kelvin, but I felt a lot better knowing that he had such great new parents.

Kelvin was so excited about everything that he didn’t even look back (the little snot!), as you can see in the picture of the group as they were getting ready to leave.

So long, little fella – things are really looking up for you!

CP's Moffat nka “Monty” Celebrates a Month at Home in the Sunshine State!

Contributed by a Post Adoption Volunteer

Monty (CP’s Moffat) knows how to make New Dad smile!

Monty, fka “CP Moffat”, left snowy Wisconsin a month ago and landed in sunny Florida, delivering more sunshine to his New Mom and Dad in his Forever Home!

Monty is like a new "spark of life", dancing when Mom and Dad come home!  There is a resident cat and the cat and Monty just ignore each other, which is fine.  Monty loves to go on walks and is doing a good job keeping Mom and Dad well exercised.

A stepper?  No, no, I want to take you for a Walk!

Training is easy as he is a very food-driven dog, although his treats are being carefully monitored because Monty would eat all of the time!  In fact, Monty woke everyone up in the middle of the night one time:  He had gotten into the pantry and was helping himself to some dog chow!

Monty has had successful trips to the vet and the grooming salon, and every day he seems to look forward to learning more about enjoying his new life!

Thanks to all the CP Volunteers who made this Rescue and  Happy Ending possible!

Shorty aka Ozzi fka CP’s Tolstoy now Shines Brightly in Florida!

Written by Shorty aka Ozzi (CP’s Tolstoy)

Things are looking pretty good now!

Hi Foster Mom and Dad!
Hi Everybody at Col. Potter!

It's Shorty aka Ozzi from sunny Florida!  Except its not so sunny and it'll be cold tonight!

My new Mom adores me and says my tail wags all the time, it must get tired!  She's says I'm a happy little gentleman!  I have to learn stairs though, and I'm not thrilled about that. I even won the cranky old husband over with a big kiss!  He's wild about me now!  There is also a fat cat around who sleeps all day.

Okay I have to supervise Mom now.

Give Toto and the gang in Kansas a bark for me!

Love xxoo,
Shorty aka Ozzi

Madeira “Maddie” Moves on as “Penny”!

Contributed by her Loving Foster Mom

Madeira nka Penny already knows how to make New Mom smile!

Madeira aka “Maddie”, who will soon be known as "Penny," left today with her New Mom and Grand Mom. They are heading from sunny Florida to a somewhat chillier clime in North Carolina, where she will meet her New Dad in her Forever Home.

Madeira nka Penny cuddles with New Grand Mom

As you can see by her pictures, she has an ecstatic New Mom and a proud and comforting Grand Mom… who says she has told New Mom she has to send pictures!

Saying “Goodbye” is such sweet sorrow…

Foster Mom and Maddie shared a sweet, final embrace...  That final embrace is always so hard, isn't it?  Sometimes it seems that the ones who have been the most troubled and difficult become the hardest to let go after they have finally surrendered their defenses and fears and allowed themselves to be loved and cared for.  They take such big chunks of your heart with them when they leave…

Sweet Forever, little Maddie!

Hula La Lights Up her Forever Home!

Contributed by her Happy Foster Mom

Hula’s tail is busy wagging!

My little diabetic/vision impaired foster girl flew from balmy Florida early in January to live with her new family in Michigan.  It was a very long travel day but she did really well.  She is such a delightful, easy-going girl and lets nothing fluster her!

…and wagging!

Her new Mom and I were worried about how Hula would react to the cold and snow.  Turns out, when she came out of her travel crate, she dove into the snow and thoroughly enjoyed it!  Her new Mom and Dad made sure she would have everything she needed to feel welcome – sweaters, toys, and the exact food and treats she received at my house.

…and wagging!!!

Well, based on the pictures, I think this has been an easy transition for her!  She’s met Walther (another CP cairn) and the two cats and everyone is getting along just fine.  New Mom says it’s like she’s lived there her whole life.

Hula loves a great belly rub!

I’ve been getting almost daily updates and pictures and I hope they never stop coming!  Hula is thoroughly enjoying her new life!

Hula also loves her toys!

Hula’s vision is somewhat impaired by her diabetic cataracts.  She absolutely loves fetching a ball, but sometime can’t find it once it stops moving.  Her New Mom found a blinking ball and Hula has no problem finding that one!

…all of her toys!

She looks so happy!  I couldn’t have asked for a better forever home for this sweet little girl!
Hula is Forever Home Sweet Home!

Happy Forever, Hula!!!
